Edmonton Khalsa Educational Association opened in September 2001 with an enrolment of 13 students. It is steadily growing and has a current student enrolment of 300 students from Playschool to grade 6. The school is located in the community of Millwoods. The school provides quality educational experiences to prepare students for life-long learning within the framework of Sikh discipline and values. High academic and behavioural expectations are a priority in Edmonton Khalsa School. A school-wide effort to work on mathematical skills using a variety of methods is of great importance in student learning. Students’ performance will be measured by the H.L.A.T. writing scores, Gates MacGinitie reading scores, Canadian Basic Skills Test, Provincial Achievement Tests, and individual grade assessments.
