Halpern Akiva Academy is a traditional Jewish elementary school offering a full-day program for K-9. An accredited pre-school program for 3- and 4-year-olds, an accredited licensed daycare, and an after school care program are also available. Halpern Akiva Academy’s dual curriculum follows the Alberta Education curriculum along with a Judaic – Hebrew component. The Academy is an accredited, funded Alberta school affiliated with AISCA, Torah Umesorah, and Congregation House of Jacob. Akiva strives to provide a meaningful Jewish education that emphasizes knowledge, skills and values. Students develop a strong sense of and pride in their Jewish identity, lifelong love of learning, positive self-image, and high self-esteem. Halpern Akiva offers an individualized approach to learning, encouraging students to achieve their full potential. Elementary students receive Personal Education Plans (PEP) allowing them to achieve their personal best. Akiva offers support programs for a variety of learning needs. Our dedicated faculty includes certified elementary generalists, Hebrew language, Judaic, physical education, fine arts and technology specialists. The school features large classrooms, a gymnasium, library, modern computer lab, a hot lunch program, and an extensive outdoor play area.
