Agape Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten has a Learning Through Play Philosophy where the children are provided the opportunity for hands on active learning experiences to master skills that they will use later in more formal study. BTLC dedicates itself to providing exceptional education for preschool and kindergarten students with autism and other developmental disabilities using the principals of ABA. We provide the intensity, individualization and a focus on functional skills needed for our students to achieve the greatest degree of independence possible and develop the capacity to participate in inclusive environments

We value learning through play and all of our programs feature active learning environments, which encourage children to explore, solve problems, make decisions and form opinions. Children are encouraged to learn in diverse ways, which include and focus on cooperative learning, balanced literacy and inquiry-based learning. In addition, each class maintains low student-teacher ratios and has a strong community-based approach.

Brighter Futures Private School is happy to provide Early Intervention services for children who require them. These services are directly immersed, and in conjunction with our preschool and junior kindergarten classes, in an inclusive setting program. Children that are accessing early intervention services will be part of the regular programming and also receive pull out services for individual therapy and small group work (as required based on the needs of the child). These services are fully funded through Alberta Education. Alberta Education offers different types of funding depending on the needs of the child. These include: Mild/Moderate (M/M) funding for children with either mild or moderate delays in development; Program Unit Funding (PUF) for children whose needs are more significant/severe/medical, and English Language Learner (ELL) funding for children who are new to learning English.

Our kindergarten program helps to support the 3rd year of PUF supports. We currently work in collaboration with the LEAP Centre to provide our kindergarten program. In line with the values of the EFC, the kindergarten program is a child-centered, developmentally appropriate program of learning for kindergarten aged children. The purpose of the program is to establish a strong foundation for learning in the early years, and to do so in a safe and caring, play-based environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of all children. There will be a focus on servicing the needs of PUF funded children, who may benefit from a smaller class size and regular, integrated specialized supports and services, however this is an inclusive program. The goal of the program is to help children make a smoother transition to Grade 1 and to aid in improving their success in school moving forward. The class has an enrollment cap of 10 students to allow for one-on-one and small group focus.

BELA is an Alberta Education Early Childhood Site, making it possible for us to provide services and programming for children with early intervention and special needs, as well as for children who are learning to speak English as a second language. Cause & Effect Foundation is an Early Intervention Program. We deliver speech and/or language intervention services to pre-school children who have a diagnosis of Mild/Moderate or Moderate Language Delay. Both programs are delivered primarily in the child’s daycare, within Calgary and surrounding communities.

Mild/Moderate funding is an Alberta Education Grant that supports children aged 3 years 8 months as of August 31st and less than 6 years as of September 1st. Children may be eligible for a maximum of two years of funding support, the second year must be their kindergarten year.

Moderate Language Delay funding is also an Alberta Education Grant. It supports children aged 2 years 8 months as of August 31st and less than 6 years on September 1st. Children may be eligible for a maximum of three years that must include their kindergarten year.

Both programs require a minimum number of qualified educational program hours as set out by Alberta Education.
Cause & Effect provides a fully trained Speech Therapy Assistant (STA) who works one-on-one, weekly, with your child. The individualized program plan (IPP) developed for your child will target specific areas of need as determined by a skilled pediatric Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in collaboration with a certificated Teacher. The (IPP) is overseen by the Teacher who also works one-on-one with your child to support the development of school readiness skills.

The activities provided are play-based and build on each child’s strengths and interests. Weekly teaching sessions run from October to June. Children HAVE FUN while developing their skills!

The mission of the Central Alberta Christian High School is to provide a Biblical, Christ-centered education based on Reformed creedal standards. ONSITE PUF PROGRAMMING IN EDMONTON

We know that providing high-quality daily support early in life can dramatically improve a child’s ability to learn and succeed in school, especially for children who have higher needs. The Centre for Autism Services Alberta’s (the Centre) program offers evidence-based learning through play using the support of highly specialized teams. With small class sizes and high teacher-to-student ratios, student learning is maximized.
The Centre is an approved Early Childhood Services (ECS) provider through Alberta Education. We use a naturalistic developmental behavioural approach, an approach proven to be effective for children with autism. This means that we use a mix of play and structured activities that focus on typical developmental milestones and that are taught with evidence-based principles. Daily information is collected to show evidence of a child’s learning and children move through goals at their own pace. Children participate in a routine that is filled with learning experiences in the areas of academics, communication, socialization, motor skills, and self-help skills. We have a strong emphasis on increasing independence and maximizing school readiness.

Cherry Coulee Christian Academy has been serving the Christian Community of Bow Island, AB since opening its doors in September 1989. The school’s mission is “to assist the family by providing a quality, Christ-centred, Bible-based education, to equip students for life, and to influence the world around them for Christ.” Cherry Coulee continues to offer a Bible-based curriculum that meets the standards of Alberta Education. The pioneer spirit has prevailed at CCCA since its inception. Two portables, which were later increased to four, housed the humble beginnings of the school, yet with the tireless effort of countless individuals who donated many thousands of volunteer hours CCCA was able to further expand in 2003 with the opening of a new building which houses classrooms, a kitchen, and a full-sized gym. Early educational programming is provided for children between the ages of 2 ½ and 6, who have been diagnosed with a severe disability (including severe communication delay or behaviour challenges.) A diagnosis of autism is not required to access services. The program focuses on social communication skills, functional play skills, fine and gross motor skills, classroom routines, and preschool/kindergarten concepts. Families are encouraged to be actively involved in the program planning. Preschool Programs occur at the Maier Centre, our new site in south Edmonton or in Community Preschool Programs.

Community Options is a non-profit agency whose inclusive philosophy values the opportunity for all children and families to participate fully in their community. The Community Preschool Education program serves children 2.5- 6 who have a severe disability qualifying for Alberta Education Program Unit Funding. CUPS Calgary Society is an early intervention program that serves children of low-income families who are at risk or have identified as having a developmental delay. Educational and therapeutic components are combined into a systematic, planned intervention to address a child’s needs during the formative three to six years of life. The centre operates with the philosophy of providing a nurturing, caring, educational environment to help children and families in financial need reach their full potential.

What sets our program apart from other options is the variety of enrichment activities and outings throughout the school year. These include: • skating and swimming lessons all taught by certified, trained instructors. • field trips to local venues that may include Safety City, Butterfield Acres, Calgary Co-op, the library, fire station and the theatre. • in-class visitors vary from year to year but typically include storytellers, community helpers, reptile collections, dinosaur presentations, etc. • unique hands-on learning experiences, such as bread-making, music & art classes, and hatching duck eggs and butterfly larvae. Inner City High School is an academic and arts-based senior high school accredited by Alberta Education. Kindergarten classes are held from September to June inclusive in the Kindergarten Room, (south entrance) of the Irricana Community Hall from Tuesday to Friday mornings. Children are eligible to attend if they have reached their fifth birthday by December 31st of the current year. The Irricana ECS Society is a privately run Kindergarten and its operation is governed by parents of enrolled children, therefore parental support is required. There is a registration fee.

It Takes A Village Educational Society is a non profit ECS that runs inclusive preschool and Kindergarten programs and provides special needs programming for community-based sites in Cochrane. We provide free Early Childhood Screenings for all 4 and 5 year-olds, and for 3 year-olds where there are parent or educator concerns at our sites.

Kids Developmental Services (KDS) is a Private Early Childhood Services (ECS) Operator funded by Alberta Education. We work in the community with our preschool and child care partnerships and offer services to children accessing PUF and Mild/Moderate funding. All children in our program, irrespective of their funding code, are offered Home Programming and Kids PlayTime during enrollment. Kids PlayTime is a playgroup run in various community spaces around the city. Groups are between 90 and 120 minutes long, and outdoor play forms a large part of the group. We use community resources, such as Public Libraries and Community Centres, as our base from which to run these groups and some of them are completely outdoor based. Children work on their goals during outdoor play and team members are able to work more individually with children. These groups incorporate the FLIGHT Curriculum and are play-based and child-led. KDS also offers "Parenting with Positive Discipline" in-person and virtual workshops and support groups for our parents and parents of non-funded children of our partnerships. Our Speech-Language Therapy team also run in-person and virtual groups for parents on speech and language development. Rocky Christian School is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 alternative program within the Wild Rose School Division. It is operated under the terms of an agreement between the Wild Rose board and the Rocky Christian School Society. The Society has a membership consisting of parents of students and other supporters. The society is a non-denominational group that accepts the responsibility to be an extension of the Christian home for the purpose of educating children. Programs remain true to Biblical, Christ centred education. The school is located in the town of Rocky Mountain House. Students come from within the town of Rocky Mountain House and from a large area of Clearwater County in the southernmost half of the Wild Rose School division jurisdictional boundary.

RTD Math Academy is a fully accredited distance education school that specializes in Alberta math curriculum. We are not a ‘regular’ classroom that’s moved online; we offer an optimized learning experience for distance education students. We specialize in math and coding.
